Project Features#

The goal of this project is to have an open platform that any one can use to build a complete hydroelectric control system with COTS equipment or with open hardware based designs.

The modular based system is broken into the following “areas” that interact with eachother.

These areas include:

  • Governor Control

  • Exciter Control

  • Unit Protection and Control

  • Balance of Plant

These are expanded on in detail below.

Contents:

All program development will be written in strict IEC 61131-3. This is to ensure that it is portable to many different industrial platforms.
